Visitors to the festival „The way through the Christmas trees” are invited to vote for their favourite tree
Until 12th January, the landscape objects of the festival “The way through the Christmas trees” may still be viewed in Riga, and several of the Christmas trees are already proving to be the favourites of festival visitors, who have voted on the www.eglufestivals.lv site. Voting will continue until the last day of the festival.
The Top 3 favourites to have received the most votes so far are “Lighthouse”, followed by “Iceman” and “Pine Cone”.
This year, the authors of the landscape design objects for the festival “The way through the Christmas trees” have also shown themselves to be creative and original, with the ability to look at traditional things from a different angle. The festival is marking its 10 year anniversary this year and is a reminder of the legend that Riga was home to the first ever decorated Christmas tree.
This year, 25 landscape design objects have been provided for residents and visitors to appreciate, by professional artists, representatives of the creative industry and students from the Art Academy of Latvia – fir trees that surprise through new ideas, the materials used and creativity, giving the city its special holiday feeling.
The map of the festival object locations is available on www.eglufestivals.lv, and in booklet format at Visitor Centres of Riga City Council, branches of Riga Central Library and tourism information centres.
Vote for your favourite landscape object from “The way through the Christmas trees” until 12th January!
The festival “The way through the Christmas trees” is sponsored by Riga City Council, organised by Riga City Council’s Department for Education, Culture and Sport in cooperation with the Art Academy of Latvia.
