Inhabitants are invited to participate in the competition “An alternative Christmas tree”
In anticipation of the festive season, this year, the organisers of the landscape object festival “The way through the Christmas trees” are inviting the public to enter the competition “An alternative Christmas tree” by sending in photos of their own festive creations in their homes, offices or gardens.
This year “The way through the Christmas trees” is celebrating its 10 year anniversary and in honour of the occasion is inviting residents to share with their creations. Original, creative, decorative items or compositions may be entered under the heading “An alternative Christmas tree”. Send photos of your unique creations until 12th January by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org The entries will be assessed and prizes awarded for the most interesting ideas.
Inspiration may be gleaned by visiting the festival “The way through the Christmas trees” whose objects in this anniversary year are mostly displayed in Kronvalda parks. Until 12th January, visitors may use the festival guide and see the objects on foot, especially in the evenings when the city’s lights are switched on.
A specially prepared map will help follow the Christmas tree trail, and is available at www.eglufestivals.lv and in tourism information centres.
The festival “The way through the Christmas trees” is sponsored by Riga City Council and organised by Riga City Council’s Department of Education, Culture and Sports in cooperation with the Art Academy of Latvia.
