Festival has concluded - object "Aurora" receives the Visitors Affection award

At the conclusion of the 7th landscape object Festival “The Way Through the Christmas Trees” works authors and festival supporters were thanked. During the event, the Visitors Affection award was awareded to the author of object “Aurora”; created by Zoja Golubeva in partnership with the Art Academy of Latvia.

Residents of Vilnius are also enjoying Festival objects

This year, Festival “The Way Through the Christmas Trees” producers received a letter from Vilnius Municpality requesting to display some of the festival objects in Vilnius. Festival producers responded to their request by giving Vilnius access to the requested objects, that were creted by Lithuanian authors in partnership with SIA “Studio Des Fetes Latvija” in 2012, 2013, and 2014; and are currently on display in the capital of Lithuania.

You can vote for your favorite landscape object until the last day of the festival.

Object “Portal” invites you to travel to a different dimension

For the first time, Mark Rožencovs, a 3rd year student of the Sculpture Department of the Art Academy of Latvia, participates as an author in the landscape object festival. The new artists has attributed a unique spacial quality to object “Portal”, located at the library on K. Barona Street; a feeling that within a Christmas tree exists an endless space.

Festival “The Way Through the Christmas Trees” landscape objects can be viewed throughout Riga from 9 December, 2016 to 8 January, 2017. Māra Ādiņa: “Also this year, students are trying to surprise festival visitors”

Māra Ādiņa has intermittently worked with landscape object Festival “The Way Through the Christmas Tree” for three years. However, this year, as the Art Academy of Latvia begins its Creative Project Workshop, and Māra Ādiņa as its director, will for the first time aid students directly in realizing their creative ideas; so that we may view them throughout the city in December.
