Visitors to the festival „The way through the Christmas trees” are invited to vote for their favourite object
The landscape objects of the festival “The way through the Christmas trees” may be viewed until 13th January, but visitor voting on www.eglufestivals.lv/en so far indicates that there are already several favourites taking the lead as this year’s favourite object. Votes may be cast until the last day of the festival.
There are currently two objects in the lead, according to visitors’ votes: “Opart”, which was created in cooperation with the Art Academy of Latvia, and whose author is Toms Vītols, and “Holiday tree”, created by JSC “Adam Bd” branch “Adam Decolight Latvia”.
The authors of the landscape objects for this year’s festival “The way through the Christmas trees”, have once again shown their creativity and originality, and ability to look at traditional items from a different angle. For the ninth year in succession, the festival continues to affirm the legend that Riga was the city where the first ever Christmas tree was decorated.
This year, residents and visitors can vote for 38 landscape objects in the urban environment, created by professional artists, creative industry representatives and students from the Art Academy of Latvia – the fir trees are at times surprising and provocative, and created from a variety of materials and original compositions, adding to the special holiday atmosphere in the city.
The map of the festival objects can be found at www.eglufestivals.lv/en or in leaflet form at Riga City Council visitor centres, branches of Riga Central library and tourism information centres.
Vote for your favourite “The way through the Christmas trees” object until 13th January!
